Mr. Nathan De Leon, one of the founders of The Philippine Heritage Society gave a highlight to Filipino pride which he believes plays an important role in nation-building. “Filipino pride has always been a powerful force for enriching both culture and quality of life. At the core of that pride is Filipino heritage which is our newly-founded cultural collective, The Philippine Heritage Society. Geared to Philippine arts and culture and of the welfare of artists and artisans, we believe that heritage-inspired Filipino pride has been and will always be an essential part of nation-building.” he stated in his message.

As part of that nation-building, Light TV God’s Channel of Blessings which represents the Media Pillar became one of the sponsors and media partners of The Philippine Heritage Society. This was a huge opportunity for the Christian station to attend The Philippine Heritage Society Ball 2022 Filipino Heritage Awards held at Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel on July 25, 2022, and to testify to how rich our culture is and how designs, concepts, creativity, arts, skills, foods, and talents are attributed to Filipino pride. Some various segments in this magnificent event were Filipino-Balse-accompanied waltz dance, Harana: Fashion Walk for Culture where PHS Ball models featured the distinctive designs of Oskar Peralta, Ditta Sandico, Peri Diaz, Edgar Madamba, Edgar San Diego, Frankie De Leon, Petra Lim, Ronaldo Arnaldo, Ole Morabe and Lito Perez and of course, the astounding performances of LyrOPERA Performing Artists namely: Randy Gilongo, Sherine Ann Koa, Bernadette Mamauag, Eden Dumlao, Calie Ng, Niña Campos and the Philippine Tenors Sherwin Sozon, Kenneth Cataylo and John Ocampos who sang some of the well-known Tagalog songs like ‘Bahay Kubo’ and ‘Bongga Ka Day’

Furthermore, we, along with more than 500 guests, had tasted some Filipino dishes and even desserts that you will also surely love! These exciting and delicious foods such as Malabar Spinach Salad with Buffalo Cheese and Tomato (Ensaladang Alugbati sa Kesong Puti at Kamatis), Symphony of Cold Duck Asado (Asadong Pato), Chicken Embutido (Embutidong Manok), Duo of Beef Steak Tenderloin and Prawns in Bistek Sauce with Crispy Garlic Flakes (Bistek Tagalog at Sugpo), Jasmin Garlic Fried Rice (Sinangag na kanin) Fresh Upland Vegetables in Season (Gulay na Napapanahon), Baked Halo Halo Roll (Halo-halo Turon) and Home-made Jackfruit Ice Cream with Cheese (Sorbetes na Langka at Keso) which had color, flavor, and textures that gave delight to our Filipino taste and cravings.

Before entering the enormous doors going to the extensive function hall, guests walked through the red carpet with their outstanding Filipino-style gowns and elegant ‘saya’ for women and refurbished barong tagalog for men which beamed to our eyes that night. Joel Cruz along with his adorable pair of twins was also spotted on the red carpet.

Most importantly, this event was not just a historically magnificent event to cherish with, but also became a great avenue to promote our programs and be a channel of blessings to those who participated in the said event, as they received loot bags after they signed up in our booth.
